Destination: Cambodia

Having spent the last 5 days of my Chinese New Year holiday exploring Cambodia I thought I should share my experience with you + tips and must sees!

I absolutely never expected to fall in love with this country before I arrived. To be honest, I kind of went in with a mindset that I wasn’t too bothered about seeing Cambodia and I would probably be bored by day 2. I can fully say that this is now my favorite Asian country I have visited this far. It’s beautiful and real – and that goes for the landscape and the people. It’s inspiring to visit somewhere that is so poor yet SO hopeful for the future and so intent on providing a better one for the younger generation.

We spent day 1 & 2 exploring temples and the night markets around Pub Street. A highlight was for sure catching the sunrise over Angkor Wat – the 4am wake up was definitely worth it! Such a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The next morning we drove about an hour to get to Phnom Kulen National Park. This is a very cool nature park with a hike that gives you some interesting carvings at the top and a great workout!

Restaurant recommendations:
